College Bound Scholarships for 7th and 8th Grade Students
The College Bound Scholarship is a financial aid program for 7th and 8th grade students who are eligible to participate. It is designed to inspire students to begin making their college and career plans without worrying about the cost of attending college.
 
Eligible students sign a pledge promising to graduate from high school, maintain a 2.0 GPA and be good citizens. In exchange, the state of Washington will pay for their college tuition and books - for up to four years or until the student earns a bachelor's degree.

This four-year scholarship covers the cost of college tuition, fees, and a $500 stipend for books for low-income students who sign a pledge in 7th or 8th grade, promising to graduate from high school and demonstrate good citizenship.

The College Bound Scholarship provides hope and incentive for students and families who otherwise might not consider college as an option because of its cost.

Eligibility
Students may apply for the College Bound Scholarship if they meet one of the following criteria:
Are eligible to receive free and reduced-price lunch
Receive TANF benefits
Are a foster youth
Meet the income standards

Deadline to apply is June 30 of your 8th grade year. This year's 7th graders are also advised to sign-up this year, but have until the end of their 8th grade year to complete the enrollment process. Students are encouraged to apply online. Paper applications are also available in all middle school offices.
